About Me

I'm a second-generation Latvian-American, born and raised in the great state of Minnesota. I read, edit, translate, and photograph.

Currently I live in the also-great state of New York, and in addition to working as editorial director of Open Letter Books, production manager of Dalkey Archive Press, and am working on several translation projects, including Forest Daughters, ed. Sanita Reinsone, for which I received a 2020 NEA Literature Translation Fellowship, and The River by Laura Vinogradova, which is forthcoming from Open Letter Books in 2024.
